Be a PAL and help us with our Summer goal! 

Oxnard PAL has a busy Summer schedule for our youth and families and we are looking for community members and stakeholders to help us achieve our goals. Please see the list of upcoming events. 

• National PAL Youth Summit: Selected PAL youth members will travel to Maryland, including a trip to Washington D.C. for a visit with our State Representative and sightseeing. The majority of the trip will be sponsored by National PAL. (Oxnard PAL cost is $100 per participant)
• Kids Fest July 7, 2023: This FREE annual summer event is typically held on the Friday after the Fourth of July. Youth and their families enjoy jolly jumpers, First Responder meet and greets, live music by DJ Alynette, community booths offering a variety of family resources, and carnival games. 1,000+ Hot dogs, chips, and drinks are provided to all attendees at no cost. (Cost is approximately $1.50 per guest plus cost for jumpers and activities)
• Outdoor Youth Connection Trip: Select youth will have the attend a camping trip where they will learn how to set up their camping equipment, cook food, and socialize with youth from surrounding areas. (Cost is $50 per participant)
• CAL PAL Life After High School: Selected youth will visit Westmont College along with other California PAL chapters and experience dorm life while attending various life skills workshops that are beneficial after high school whether it be in college or a specific trade. (Cost is $295 per participant)
• K-8 Backpack Giveaway: This year, we will give away up to 1,000 backpacks with supplies to Oxnard youth. We welcome any resources that may be beneficial to families. (Cost is approximately $8 per filled backpack)
